“I can teach anybody how to get what they want out of life. The problem is that I can’t find anybody who can tell me what they want.” — Mark Twain
Do you know what you want in your life? Do you know how to get what you want? Consider using a vision board. A Vision Board serves three important purposes: first, it clarifies your dreams; second, it reinforces those dreams by making them visible; and third, it focuses your mind on those dreams on a daily basis.
A Vision Board Provides Clarity
If you say your goal is to “have a better life”, that is a good start, but you must CLARIFY what that means to you. To some, it may mean buying a new car; to others, it might mean making more money to support their family. You have to be clear about what you want to achieve.
A Vision Board Gives You Positive Affirmations
Once you dream it, the next step is to believe it. In addition to images, vision boards can include words, phrases or sentences that affirm your intentions. These affirmations cast away your doubts and the self-limiting beliefs you have, and put your mind in the right place for success.
Here are some examples of positive affirmations your vision board may include:
- “I am financially free.”
- “I will stay healthy.”
- “Great opportunity is in store for me.”
A Vision Board Helps Maintain Focus
Finally, vision boards serve to help you stay focused. It isn’t difficult to start each day with a positive attitude – until you get out of bed. No matter what happens during your day, your vision board is a constant reminder of where you intend to be.
